Alaskan Drilling in ANWR Back On The Table
U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Ted Stevens reintroduced legislation to allow drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge if oil prices increased to $125 per barrel for more than five consecutive days.
The Arctic Refuge contains 10.4 billion barrels of oil, estimated the Energy Department in a recent report. It also has the potential to unveil more oil drilling prospects. Read the rest…

Global Warming a Threat to Baby Seals
Seal cubs are one of the more adorable endangered species, but not for long if the earth continues heating up.
The World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature in Germany announced Monday that hundreds of newborn seals risk dying of hunger and cold due to global warming. “In some part, not a single one of the seal cubs born in the past few weeks will survive,” stated the WWF. Read the rest…

I received this email from the Co-opportunity Super Market the other day and thought I’d share it with you:

Southern Baptist Leaders Now Environmentalists
The Southern Baptist Convention released a statement on Monday that advocated action against global warming. Forty-six members criticized the church, claiming that they had been “too timid” and that more needed to be done.
The title of the new declaration is “A Southern Baptist Declaration on the Environment and Climate Change”. Click on the link to find more information there.
The new declaration states, “Our cautious response to these issues in the face of mounting evidence may be seen by the world as uncaring, reckless, and ill-informed. We can do better.”

A testing of local tap water determined that 24 metropolitan areas had traces of at least one pharmaceutical drug.
