Green Shopping Made Easier: Greenzer

Search and Shopping online are getting more and more highly developed, every day it seems. Local search, more niche sites and fully targeted advertising for very specific demographics are all the rage. And for the most part, it’s great for the consumer, or anything from products to information, because they are being served with such specificity that it’s like a site destination has been engineered and designed just for them.
Greenzer’s Place in the World of Green Online Stores
Along comes Greenzer, “a next-generation shopping engine designed to make environmentally conscious shopping easier,” according to the site itself. Currently in its beta stage, Greenzer is still developing, but their aim is high. They are working to build “a unique service for consumers to browse, compare and shop thousands of greener products from dozens of our carefully chosen merchant partners.”
In order to facilitate this mission, the company works to collect and organize products and details about merchants, all the while searching for the best green merchandise and products available. New features are promised, and further content is something to look forward to. Check out the site and give them some feedback! You’ve got the chance to get exactly what you need out of your green shopping experience!

Single-use plastic bags are the thin plastic bags you would get from any ordinary grocery store. We will still have our large plastic Co-opportunity bags available. We chose our bags because they are thick and durable, and therefore perfect to be reused; they also go above and beyond the proposed City requirements for multiple-use plastic bags.
Although we will still be offering you your choice of paper or multiple-use plastic bags, why not Read the rest…

Shopping Green Made Easy!

Finally, something like an online mall of highly evaluated, all green products for the savvy and eco-conscious shopper. According to EVO, the new website dedicated to providing shoppers with green-rated products ready for consumption, they “only feature products that have a minimum of one Green Attribute.” Intended as a guide for shopping, the Green Attributes might include things like solar options, sweatshop- or cruelty-free manufacturing processes, bamboo materials, ecologically friendly packaging, energy-star rating or biodiesel fuel inclusion.

The inherent greenness of a product is judged by how it’s made, the materials that it consists of, the travel distance from manufacturing to consumer or marketplace and the quality of the energy that is used to power it. From these factors, then, EVO has generated a rating system — next to each item they feature on the site, Read the rest…
