Seattle Area Fires Linked to Eco-Terrorism
Eco Terror Fires Near Seattle
Four multi-million dollar homes went up in flames in Maltby, Washington, with evidence indicating that an eco-terrorist organization had burned down the buildings, claiming the buildings were not green enough.

“Built Green? Nope black!” was spray-painted on a sign with the initials of the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), a radical environmentalist group that authorities stated have committed other arsons in the Northwest. “McMansions in RCDs r not green,” was also scrawled in red (RCD stands for rural cluster developments).

More Details About the Seattle Eco-terrorism Fires

The fires occurred at the “Street of Dreams,” where developers show off luxury model homes with the latest in interior design and landscaping and later sell them. These homes are near the headwaters of Bear Creek, home of the endangered Chinook salmon. People against the development believe these homes could pollute the creek or a nearby drinking water source. Further, critics are wondering whether or not enough has been done to protect wetlands nearby.

Doug Barnes, the president of Centex Homes in the Northwest division, said, “It’s very disappointing to take a situation where we’re trying to promote good building practices… and that’s destroyed.”

These homes range from 4,200 to 4,750 square feet with up to a $2 million price tag. People involved with the project said the homes were trying out green techniques like super-insulated walls and products made with recycled materials. A show last summer on the Street of Dreams centered on the eco-friendly features of the homes.
